Currently, I am sitting in front of my laptop, sitting at a desk I hardly ever use, in a room I'm hardly ever in. I usually do my homework at my kitchen table, where there are plenty of distractions. So, I'm trying something new. I'm actually using the desk my mom got me in order to study for a test I have in two days. Granted I have hardly actually started on my studying, but instead decided that making a new blog post would be more productive. Ha!
Now if you know me, you know I don't go to class as often as I should. I should say that I rarely actually go to class. Disclaimer: I do not condone these actions and do not suggest skipping your classes. I am trash and am working on fixing it. But, as of now, I have A's, B's, and C's. I can teach myself the information I need to get good marks on tests if I give myself two or three days of studying. To me, it's pointless to go to a class that teaches me all the information I need to know for a test in about a month, when I can teach myself the same material and do very well on all my tests. My worst test this semester is when I was going to my psychopharmacology class all the time. So, again to me, it's ridiculous to go when I can lounge around all day in pajamas, rewatching The Office for the seventh or eighth time.
Again, I do not encourage participating in this behavior. I've always been good at procrastination and I feel that is really all high school prepared me for. From timed writes, where I have to write a four page essay in two hours or less to projects that don't require any time outside of one night. Last semester I wrote a fifteen page paper in two days. Granted I was up until about 3 am each night but I got a B+ on it and it really wasn't that difficult.
I just don't see the point in going to a class that just sucks the life out of me when I can teach myself the same information at home just as effectively. Reminder: this does not work for attendance based classes. If you are in an attendance based class, please for the love of God, go. Get those easy points so you have some wiggle room if you do shitty on a test.
I have to reiterate that this is not a good habit to have. One should always go to classes unless inhibited by family emergencies, illness, injury, or a scheduled appointment or event. I personally like to live dangerously.
